TOURNAMENT SPECIFIC RULES

   WOMENS​

  1. Saturday, March 29 will be round robin play: teams will play 2 sets to 25 points with no cap against each team. Games will be officiated by HAL refs.

  2. Sunday, March 30 will be single elimination playoffs. Best of 3 sets; first 2 sets to 25 with no cap, 3rd set to 15 with a cap at 17. Games will be officiated by HAL refs.

  3. Seeding and schedule for the playoffs will be determined by the win-loss ratio of sets. In the case that two or more teams have the same ratio, the points for and against ratio will be used.

  4. Teams will be given a 10 minute warmup before the start of their first game of the day, including 5 minutes for hitting and 1 minute for serving. Every game after that will only have a 3 minute warm up, 2 minutes to hit, 1 minute to serve.

  5. The times listed are when the game will START. If a team fails to have 6 players present by the time the game starts, this will result in the other team gaining a 10 point advantage for the game.

  6. Teams are allowed one 30 second time out per set and must ask the ref for it when the ball is not in play.

  7. A player can only sub with one other player an unlimited amount of times each set. They can sub with a different player in a different set.

  8. There is ZERO-TOLERANCE for verbal or physical abuse to any of the Hyper Athletic League team, including referees, scorekeepers, etc. Hyper Athletic League may ask individuals to leave the venue and may not be permitted to return depending on the severity of the mistreatment.

   MENS​

  2. Sunday, March 30 will be single elimination playoffs. Best of 3 sets; first 2 sets to 25 with no cap, 3rd set to 15 with a cap at 17. Games will be officiated by HAL refs.

​General Rules 

  1. Game times listed are game START times, teams should arrive before then to get ready and warm up 

  2. Teams may start with less than 6 players but will receive a 5 point disadvantage for the first set and a 10 point disadvantage for the second set

  3. A player may sub for a team in a higher division than the one they registered for but NOT lower

  4. Games will follow the Volleyball Canada Indoor Volleyball Rulebook

  5. Teams will get 1 - one minute time out per set.

Coed Rules

  1. You are not allowed to have more than 3 males in one row at a time. I.E. There must be at least one female and at most 2 males in each row.

  2. Males are allowed to hit in the front row

  3. There are no blocking restrictions​

Gym Rules

  1. No food is permitted inside the gym as per the Red River College policy

  2. Please don't litter. Clean up after yourself

  3. Outdoor shoes must be left outside the gym on the designated mats. Indoor and non-marking shoes can be worn inside. This is to protect the gym floors, keep the courts clean and the players safe.​
